Extension Contracture Post Total Knee Replacement: A Case Report

BACKGROUND: Stiffness is a common problem after knee arthroplasty and need for further procedure. Patients who experience this usually have poor outcome. Flexion contracture the most reported case in reports; however, we rare of patient with extension total (TKA).
 CASE REPORT: A 62-year-old woman was presented 3-month history right TKA. After 3 month she came to hospital complained that could not flex knee. Nevertheless, still walk. On knee, there quadriceps hypotrophy. There no active passive range motion (ROM), because it fixed at 0°. We performed medial parapatellar approach arthrotomy added lateral release contracture. The fibrotic tissues were removed. flexion evaluated managed get 0–130° flexion-extension ROM. In ward, treated using continuous (CPM) 1 week CPM maintained within 0–130°. Six months surgery, walk normal ROM between 0 100°.
 CONCLUSION: Stiff Close observation proper rehabilitation can prevent stiff manipulation, manipulation under anesthesia, arthroscopy debridement, open are option problem.
